A good long weekend....

Hey everyone! I know it's been a couple of days since I was here, but I was out enjoying the long weekend with family....so here's my recap with pics-

Friday (4th)- Started out the day by giving little Miss Makalyn her first real bath, since her cord fell off a couple of days before....she loved it! She was very content to sit in the nice warm water, look around, and relax abit....

After getting all ready for the day, we got a visit from my cousins Christl and Tonya, who stayed for a few hours.....until we all lost power, due to a fire in a subdivision a couple miles from here. Wasn't the best time, since temps that day were 100+ and the air didn't work, obviously...made for some crabby girls, that's for sure. Later that afternoon, the girls and I headed out to pick Joe up from work (more so that the 3 of us could cool down, and the girls could finally take a nap, in a nice air-conditioned car) and went on over to the Celebrate Freedom fun-for-all, that the church puts on every year.....there was plenty to do, and kept us all entertained for several hours. They put on a good BBQ for $1.50, which filled our bellies and readied us for the fun, and then they have several food booths, from watermelon slices and shaved ice to ice cream and cotton candy all for .25, so Miranda got her fill of a couple different items, but for the most part, she was all about the toys (they set up several different blow-up toys for the kids) and face paintings.....

During all that, Makalyn was, for the most part, chillin' in her stroller....

Then it was time to settle in for some music and fireworks....

All in all, we had a great time, and better yet, we had electricity back when we got home!

Saturday was spent outdoors all day, from playing in the pool in the yard and swinging to helping Pops work on the siding at their house and watering the trees with Gramma.

Sunday, we were invited to a BBQ at Tonya's house, where we enjoyed good company and good food. Miranda loved playing in the pool and with the animals there. It was nice getting to relax and be with family one more time during the long weekend.

Hope you all had a great weekend and made lots of good memories!!
